Clarence Barnett Sr.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC- Clarence Lewis Barnett Sr., 82, formerly of Shelby, died Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at his home. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Bon and Leitha Barnett. Clarence retired from Doran Textiles. He loved to spend time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Bob Bridges; brothers, Cecil and Frank Barnett; and sister, Ruth Hamrick. He is survived by his wife, Helen Barnett; sons, Clarence Barnett Jr. and wife Teresa of Surfside Beach, SC and Steve Bridges of Lawndale; stepdaughter, Teresa Blake and husband Leroy of Shelby; stepson, Dennis Bridges and wife Shirley of Shelby; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Cookie.
Funeral services will be held 12pm, Friday, December 18, 2020 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Richard Stroup officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
