Connie Gilbert

SHELBY- Connie Gale Nodine Gilbert, 46, of 2048 Flint Hill Church Road, passed away Sunday September 21, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. A native of Cabarrus County, she was born March 25, 1968, daughter of James Monroe and Frances Walker Nodine. She was a faithful member of Putnam Memorial Baptist Church where she sang in the Choir/Praise Team and played church softball. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister and a friend to all who knew her.

PRECEDED: She is preceded in death by three brothers, Scott, Chris, and Gene Owens and one neice Jamie Owens.

SURVIVED: In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, John Gilbert of the home; three daughters, Katherine Victoria, Kimberly Margaret, and Riley Michelle Gilbert all of the home as well; two sisters, Freida Gold and husband Tommy of Earl, Anita Campbell and husband Brian of Ellenboro; two brothers, Robbie Owens and wife Donna of Lincolnton and Barry Nodine of Grover.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held 3:00pm Wednesday at Putnam Memorial Baptist Church.

VISITATION: the family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 – 2:30 pm on the day of the service.

CLERGY: Rev. Bryan Glisson and Rev. Gary Marburger will officiate.

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorials be made to Putnam Memorial Baptist Church, 1146 County Home Rd, Shelby, NC 28152 in her memory.
