SHELBY- Mrs. Daisy P. Willis, of 102 Stone St., died Thursday, August 23, 2007 at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte. A native of Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Doc and Mary Pearson. She retired from the textile industry and was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church. She loved camping and traveling throughout the country. Daisy was also a homemaker, a mother, grandmother and friend, who felt as though nothing compared to her grandchildren.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Horace Lee Emery; a son, Eddie Darell Emery; son-in-law, Eddie Clark; sisters, Dot, Ruby, Ellen and Pauline; and brothers, Beauford, Bob and Doyle.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Charles Willis, of the home; a son, Michael Emery and wife, Karen of Gaffney; two daughters, Rita Clark of Shelby and Denise Taylor and husband, Kenneth of Latta, SC; a sister, Nell Bumgardner of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and their spouses, Kristin Holcomb and Todd of Gaffney, Kimberly Langley and Brian of Gulf Port, Miss, Tim Hoyle and Chrissie of Cherryville, Jason Clark of Shelby, Jarett Taylor of Latta, SC, and Matthew Taylor and Meredith of Columbia, SC; and two great grandchildren, Stephen and Sarah Holcomb.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends Saturday, August 25, 2007 from 6:00 until 7:30 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2007 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
