SHELBY- Mr. Dale Leon Alexander, 72, of 2708 Polkville Rd., died Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
FUNERAL: 1:00 P.M., Friday, May 19, 2006 at Bethel Baptist Church
BURIAL: Rose Hill Memorial Park with military honors
VISITATION: from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 18, 2006 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.
LIE IN STATE: The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
PERSONAL HISTORY: Born in Rock, Kansas to the late Joseph and Esther Lennon Alexander, he was retired from Duke Power, was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Leroy, Joe, Sam and Leverne Alexander and a half-brother, Clarence Alexander.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Edna Crotts Alexander of the home; son, Kenneth Alexander and his wife, Karen, of Greensboro; daughter, Linda Lavene and husband, Robert, of Shelby; six sisters, Bonnie Schaffer and husband, Bill, Stella Orten, Betty Wilkens and husband, Bud, Xollie Buffer and husband, Delbert, Edna Schaffer and Ellen Neil; three brothers, Billy Alexander and wife, Jennie, Wendell Alexander and wife, Willa, and Glyn Alexander and wife, Pauline; two grandchildren, Susan Elaine Alexander and Alicia Michelle Alexander, both of Greensboro; many nieces and nephews and his cat, Smokey.
