Danny Martin

SHELBY: Danny Edwin Martin, 71, died Monday, November 7, 2022 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late James and Anna Belle Wood Martin. Danny was a skilled carpenter, where he found joy in the work he did for others. His family was most meaningful and he looked forward to spending time with his special great granddaughter and sidekick, Mae Mae. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Tony Goins; two brothers; and one sister. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Norma Thrift Martin of the home; daughters, Tammie Gantt, Tonda Weeks and Dana Agnew and husband Earl; sister, Karen Fox; brother, Benny Martin, all of Shelby; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends 2:00pm-4:00pm, Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home in Shelby.
