Darlene Perry
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Darlene Kay Perry, 65, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House.
She was born in Coudersport, Pennsylvania, to the late Eugene Earle and Anita Williams. Darlene was a kind, caring and compassionate woman who had a passion for children, teaching and cooking. She loved providing for those less fortunate. Darlene retired from Galeton Area School in 1998 and moved to North Carolina with her husband, Bob. While there she continued to teach in various capacities. Throughout her career, Darlene taught K-12, Adult Basic Education at Cleveland Community College and Lincoln Correctional Facility. She also taught English at Gaston College. She substitute taught at Shelby, Crest and Kings Mountain schools.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfathers, Robert Williams and Tom Devlin.
She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Robert Perry, of the home; daughter Jessica Perry of Charlotte; sons Trevor Perry and Christopher Perry of Charlotte; grandson, Tristen Perry of Boiling Springs; brothers, Donald Earle of Nelson, Pa., and Charles Williams of Galeton, Pa.; sisters Anita Vittorio of Williamsport, Pa., and Pamela Foster of Galeton, Pa.
The family will receive friends following the service, at the funeral home.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Kings Mountain.
