Darrell Smith

July 20, 1954 — July 9, 2010

CHESNEE- Mr. Darrell Glenn Smith, 55, of 103 N. Florida Ave., went home to be with the Lord, Friday, July 9, 2010 at home. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Raleigh and Verl Street Smith. Darrell worked for Security Masters. He was a member of New Harvest Ministries in Fingerville, SC and loved playing the guitar and singing. He was loving, honest, trustworthy and stood by his word, and he lived for the Lord. His life was a living walking testimony. Darrell will be greatly missed.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers Willis, Richard, Dean, and Connie Smith.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years Betty Grigg Smith, of the home, five children, Danielle Goins of Blacksburg, Donny Bryant of Lexington, Keisha Bond of Chesnee, and LeAnn Bond of the home, Mollie Chroniscer; two sisters Kay Hubbard of Bessemer City and Melinda Hinson of Lawndale; one brother Tim Hubbard of Bessemer City; six grandchildren Dustin Bryant, Joshua Bryant, Breana Bryant, Zaine Bryant, Zachary Childress, and Dakota Bond; one great granddaughter Madiison Bryant; mother and father in law Mary and Milland Grigg; brother in law Ronald Grigg; and sister in law Brenda Grigg.



VISITATION: The family will receive friends, Sunday, July 11, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home from 6-7:30pm and other times at the home of Mary and Milland Grigg, 2929 Nicole Dr., Shelby.

SERVICES: Services will be held, 11am, Monday, July 12 in the Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Patterson Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

MEMORIALS: Memorials may be made to the arthritis Foundation, Carolinas Chapter, 5019 Nations Crossing, Suite 217, Charlotte, NC 28217.

CLERGY: The Rev. Jeff McCutcheon will be officiating.

FUNERAL HOME: Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby.
