David Lockridge

KINGS MOUNTAIN-David “Dave” Stephens Lockridge Sr., 84, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at Kings Mountain Hospice House. A native of York County, SC, he was the son of the late Sam and Bertie Lee McMurry Lockridge Sr. David retired from Minnette Mills. A very humble and sweet man, he was a special son, husband, daddy, and pawpaw to all.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lucy Leigh Lockridge; one daughter, Janet Lockridge Simmons; brothers, James, Thomas, Meek, Campbell, Calvin, and Sam Lockridge; sister, Mary Frances Lockridge Green.

SURVIVORS: He is survived by his sons, David S. Lockridge Jr. of Clinton, SC, and Marty Lockridge and wife Shawn of Kings Mountain; daughters, Maryann Bowie of Clinton, SC and Teresa Falls and Lawrence Etters of Kings Mountain; sisters, Oleene L. Anderson of Shelby and Jean L. Nash and husband Charlie of Bessemer City; grandchildren, Darrell Raines, Rhonda Bullock, Laura Blalock, Jenny Green, Leighann Simmons, Mandy and Marty Lockridge, and Lisa King; 16 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Tuesday, 6-8:00pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Kings Mountain, and other times at the home of Rhonda Bullock, 109 S. Oakwood Dr., Kings Mountain

FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday, 2pm, Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery
