Della Canipe

SHELBY-Della Hamrick Canipe, 63, of 325 Grice Street, Shelby, NC, 28150, died Monday, January 31, 2022, at Hospice of Wendover Shelby. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Dewey D. Hamrick and Ruth Barnett Hamrick. Della enjoyed cooking, sewing, drawing, dancing. She loved New Year’s shooting and spending all the time she could with her special family, including grandkids, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents Della is preceded in death one nephew Rickey Hamrick Jr., a grandson Justin Day and a great niece Alyssa Ruth Bourgeois.
She is survived by a husband Sherman Canipe of Conover, NC; daughter, Brandy Roberts and husband Ricky of the home; brother, Rickey Hamrick and wife Julie of Shelby. Four grandkids, Athenna, Atlanta, Adyline, and Andrew of the home. Nieces, Ashley Pressley and fiancé Scott Harris of Shelby, Angela Davis and fiancé Phillip Truelove of Shelby, Savannah Orton and Jacob of Taylorsville NC. Nephews Patrick Hamrick and wife Jessica of Kings Mountain, Robert Hamrick and fiancé Giovanna Goldey of Shelby, and many great nieces and nephews. A special friend Jimmy Day of the home, special daughter Rebecca Brown of Kentucky and special friend, Dixie Sutton.
A memorial service will be held, Thursday February 3, 2022 4:00-6:00pm at the home of Della’s brother Rickey Hamrick at 2008 Robyn Ave Shelby NC 28152. A private burial will take place at a later date.
