Denise Thompson Hoyle

SHELBY: Denise Thompson Hoyle, 64, died Sunday May 26, 2019. She was born in Prince George Co., VA to the late James and Freda Burton Thompson. She was very involved in the Church of the Nazarene where among a few of her volunteer positions included bible quizzing, children’s church, hand bells, directing the children’s Christmas play and anything else to do with the children. She worked at La Petite Academy in Shelby as the director for 40 years. She is survived by her son, Kenney Hoyle and wife Blair of Fort Mill, SC; daughter Jennifer Matzuga and husband Chris of Raleigh, NC; sisters Diane Noblitt and husband Doug of Akron, OH, Jill Pruitt and husband Ken of Shelby and Jaime Bowman and husband Darren of Boiling Springs; grandchildren Brooks, Isaac, Conner and Avery; numerous nieces and nephews; and her church and La Petite Academy family. The family will celebrate her life, 2pm, Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Shelby First Church of the Nazarene, and 5pm, Sunday, June 2, 2019, at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 6031 Tuckaseegee Rd., Charlotte, NC.
