SHELBY- Mrs. Leslie Doris Bennett, 81, of Shelby, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at Belaire Health Care Center in Gastonia. A native of Shelby, and born April 24, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Elisha and Leslie Hord McBrayer. She was formerly employed by McBrayer Motors and retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation. She was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church and the Sunshine Sunday school class.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her husband, Clair Hays Bennett.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by her daughter, Linda Bennett Willis and her husband Jim, of Belmont; her son, C. Hays Bennett, Jr. and his wife, Christine of Shelby; three grandchildren and a great- grandchild, Jim Willis, Jr. and his wife, Julie and their son, Tyler, of Cumming, GA, Crystal B. Haislip and her husband, Brian of Maryland, and Justin Bennett of Shelby; one sister, Mary Annie Kiser of Shelby; and one brother, Bill McBrayer of Lake Wylie, SC.
FUNERAL: A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, November 2, 2007 at Cleveland Memorial Park.
