SHELBY- Mrs. Doris Edwards Cantrell, 76, of 205 Kenwood Dr. died Saturday, November 10, 2007 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Spartanburg County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Jerry Crawford and Clara Mullinax Edwards. Mrs. Cantrell was retired from Stanley Home Products and was a member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed travel and her grandchildren.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Eric Webster Edwards.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Lewis Cantrell of the home; two sons, Don Cantrell and wife, Marilyn and Todd Cantrell, all of Shelby; four sisters, Flo Ivey and husband, Bo and Claudette Cash and husband, Joe, all of Cowpens, SC, Patsy Edwards of Atlanta, and Brenda Sauders of N. Charleston, SC; a brother, J.C. Edwards, Jr. and wife, Carrie, of Atlanta; five grandchildren, Holly Jo Rizzo, Tiffany Paige Cantrell, Lacey Jo Cantrell, Bailey Elizabeth Cantrell and Mandy Jo Cantrell; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan Rizzo and Morgan Rizzo.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends Monday, November 12, 2007 from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the main sanctuary of First Baptist Church.
LIE-IN-STATE: The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
BURIAL: Burial will be at Green Creek First Baptist Church Cemetery in Polk County.
