Dorothy Murray

SHELBY: Dorothy Hamrick Murray, 85, died Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Lincolnton Rehabilitation Center. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Garland and Earlie Clary Hamrick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace “Pineknot” Murray; son, Murphy Murray; and ten brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry White and husband Rev. Donald of Shelby; brothers, Jerry Murray and wife Lissa of Grover, Bass Murray and wife Denise of Anderson, SC, Monk Murray of Blacksburg and Mason Murray and fiancée Tina of Gaffney; sister, Faye Benoy of Myrtle Beach; eleven grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Donna Murray of Shelby. A memorial service will be held 12pm, Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Crestview Baptist Church, with the Rev. Artie Hubbard officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date.
