SHELBY-Cordie “Dot” Jenkins Putnam, 93, died Fri., Dec. 19, 2014 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center. A native of Rockingham County, she was the daughter of the late Mark and Hattie Hale Jenkins. She was a member of Aldersgate U.M.C. where she was a member of the Golden Circle Sunday School Class and the Young at Heart Senior Group.
PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Odell Putnam; and daughter, Debbie King.
SURVIVED: She is survived by her loving daughter, Janice “Jane” Zirkle and husband Marty of Shelby; son-in-law, Harry King of South Riding, VA; brother, Cecil Jenkins and wife Ruby of Shelby; grandchildren, Tracy Cook and husband Eddie of South Riding, VA, Frankie King and wife Stacy of Oak Hill, VA, Mark Zirkle and wife Shawn of Stanley; Matthew Zirkle and wife Dana of Brentwood, Tenn., Justin King and wife Sarah of South Riding, VA, and Jennifer Lovelace and husband Ron of Belmont; 18 great-grandchildren; and dear friend and scrabble partner, Mable Hardin of Shelby.
FUNERAL SERVICES: Monday, 2p.m., at Aldersgate United Methodist Church
VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the church
