Doug Carroll

SHELBY: Douglas “Doug” Carroll, 80, died Sunday, May 9, 2021 at his home. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Hoyt and Mallie Dixon Carroll. Doug served in the Air Force, retired as a computer engineer, after 40 years of service, with Unisys, and was a member of Crestview Baptist Church. He stayed active with many different hobbies he enjoyed. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Rebecca Hamrick Carroll, of the home; son, Lee Carroll and wife Angel of Shelby; daughter, Wendy Morgan of Boiling Springs; grandchildren, Hallie Machak and husband Logan, Ashley Bradshaw and husband Cameron, Elijah Carroll and Caleb and Rachel Morgan; and great grandson, Jackson Edwards. The family will receive friends 5-6:30pm, Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2pm, Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to United Christian Missions, PO Box 1038, Boiling Springs, NC 28017
