SHELBY- Mr. Doug “Dougman” Davis, 47, of 934 College Ave., died Saturday, December 1, 2007. A native of Cleveland County, he was a son of Roe Davis of Shelby and Connie Cannon Davis of Boiling Springs. He was a member of Crestview Baptist Church. As a welder and fabricator, he loved to build and race dirt late models and worked with the Bush and NASCAR Circuit throughout his career.
SURVIVORS: In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Sherry Borders Davis of Mooresboro; a son, Douglas Davis of the home; a daughter, Amanda Davis of Mooresboro; two sisters, Vickie Morrison and husband, Rusty and Candy Ayers and husband, Ricky, all of Shelby; two aunts, Nina Davis and Muriel Mills and husband, Sam, all of Shelby; and three nephews, Landon Morrison, Dereck Walker and Patrick Walker, all of Shelby.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 4, 2007 from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Crestview Baptist Church.
LIE-IN-STATE: The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
BURIAL: Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
