Edna Bowen

SHELBY: Margaret Edna Thrift Bowen, 85, died Monday, January 13, 2020, at Testa Family Hospice House in Kings Mountain. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Donna Jolley Thrift. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Blaine Bowen; two brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by her sisters, Geneva Freeman and husband Billy of Lattimore, and Katherine Holland and husband Billy of Morganton; and sister-in-law, Geneva Thrift of Kings Mountain. Funeral services will be held 2pm, Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Tim Sims officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Patterson Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
