Edward Sailers

SHELBY: Edward Grady Sailers, 81, died Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Atrium Health Cleveland. He was the son of the late Grady and Ethel Sailers. Edward was a member of the Old Rugged Cross Baptist Church and enjoyed the simplicity of the farm life. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Marie Sailers; sisters, Lois Crowder, Nancy Morrison, and Geraldine Shelton; brothers, Naymond Sailers and Raymond Sailers. He is survived by his wife of the home, Kathryn Sailers; daughter, Kathy McCurry and husband Samuel of Shelby; sister, Hazel Vandyke of Lincolnton; brothers, Ronnie Sailers and wife Sandra of Shelby and Donald Sailers and wife Tammy of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Dylan Grady McCurry, Jessica Marie Adams, Jana Reece Whitaker, and Lilly Rose McCurry; great-grandchildren, Jackson Lee Adams, Eli Weston Adams, and Matthew Cole Adams. Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Old Rugged Cross Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Allen officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial to follow the service in the church cemetery.
