SHELBY- Mr. Edward Hugh Spangler, 93, 2408 Kings Road Extension, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late James and Minnie Glascow Spangler. Mr. Spangler was the owner and operator of Spangler Music Center. He was a devoted member of Bethel Baptist Church and was also a former Deacon. Mr. Spangler served in the US Army during WWII.
SURVIVED: He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Addie Allen Spangler of the home; son Edward Spangler and wife Jane of Shelby; four grandchildren, Scott Spangler and wife Kim, Kenny Spangler and wife Vickie, James Spangler and wife Leslie and Paul Spangler and wife Christie, all of Shelby; and ten great grandchildren.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends Friday, March 26, 2010, from 1:30-3pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home of his son Edward 118 Addie Lane, Shelby.
SERVICES: Services will be held, 3pm, Friday, March 26, 2010, in the Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Elizabeth Baptist Church Cemetery.
MEMORIALS: Memorials may be made to Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, 28150.
CLERGY: Dr. J. M. Ezell will be officiating.
