LINCOLNTON: Elizabeth Gold Revels, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday September 2 at The Greens at Lincolnton. A 1954 graduate of Shelby High School and a 1957 graduate of Baptist School of Nursing in Winston-Salem, NC. Elizabeth’s (Lib) career as an RN spanned 43 years, the last 25 at the Cleveland County Health Department. Her passion for being a caregiver was unmatched. She was a longtime volunteer with the American Red Cross, and Relay for Life of Cleveland County. She was an active member of Westview Baptist Church serving a variety of roles, Sunday School teacher, GA’s, Vacation Bible School and numerous others. Born in Rutherford County on March 11, 1936 to the late Griffin and Ellie Campbell Gold. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Larry G. Revels, and son Randy Revels and brothers Robert Gold, James Gold, Dan Gold, Doug Gold and sister Margaret Cummings. She is survived by her sons Mike Revels and his wife Barbara of Sharpsburg, GA, Don Revels and his wife Stacey of Lincolnton, NC; daughter in-law Shelby Beam of Shelby, NC, two brothers Bill Gold and wife Pat of Forest City, NC and Phil Gold and wife Diana of Columbia, SC; 3 grandchildren Aurora Revels of Clarksville, TN, Cam Revels of Lincolnton, NC, and Tiffany McCrary of Winston-Salem, NC; and one great-grandchild Hudson McCrary of Winston-Salem, NC. The family would like to thank the Staff of Shelby Manor, The Greens at Lincolnton and Via Health Partners (Hospice) of Lincoln County for their kindness and compassion. A special thank you to Mandy Bumgardner, Christina Poteat, Tonya Goins, Bertha Montgomery and Mary Rigsbee of The Greens at Lincolnton, also Meredith Davis, Needham Dunn, and Chris Hensley of Via Health Partners. A celebration of her life will be held at Westview Baptist Church at 2:00pm, Saturday, September 30, 2023 with Pastor Rick Bowling officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
