Elizabeth Whisnant

February 22, 1931 — November 10, 2014

SHELBY-Elizabeth Johnson Whisnant, 83, of Stroud Rd., died Mon., Nov. 10, 2014, at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Wake County, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Dorothy Lewis Johnson. She retired as a beautician, was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, and was a scout wife.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Joe Whisnant Sr.; son, Terry Whisnant, and his wife Sharon; brother, John Randolph Johnson; aunt, Della Mae “Bobbie” Lewis

SURVIVED: She is survived by her sons, Joe Lane Whisnant Jr. and wife Marilyn of Greensboro, Larry Whisnant of Polkville, and Johnny Dean Whisnant and wife Dianne of Shelby; grandchildren, Marc, Tommy, and Ronnie Whisnant, Haley Morrow, Jeremy, Morgan, and Shannon Marie Whisnant, and Nick Anderson; ten great-grandchildren; and great aunt, Lucille Robinson of Atlanta. The family would like to thank Peak Resources of Cherryville, Genvita Home Care, and Hospice at Wendover for all their love and care they extended.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Wednesday, 2:30 p.m., at Polkville United Methodist Church Cemetery

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Wednesday, 12:30-1:30p.m., at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home
