Elsie Brooks Rabb

SHELBY- Mrs. Elsie Brooks Rabb, 90, of 1012 Hardin Drive, died Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Gainesville, GA, she was a daughter of the late Harland David and Cora Williams Brooks. She was a homemaker and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Brooks, and two sisters, Bonnie Bridges and Lucille Owens.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Lloyd W. Rabb of the home; a son, The Rev. David W. Rabb and wife, Linda, of Shelby; a daughter, Patricia Weathers and husband, David, of Monroe; a sister, Trudy Washburn of Cherryville; a brother, Robert Brooks and wife, Aileen, of Greer, SC; three grandchildren, Marcus Rabb and wife, Elizabeth, of Boiling Springs, SC, Carla Rabb and fiancé Roger White, of Huntersville, and Brandi Edwards and husband, David, of Shelby; a great grandchild, Abigale Grace Edwards; a sister-in-law, Matril Brooks of Guntersville, AL; and a number of nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

FUNERAL: The funeral will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2008 at Calvary Baptist Church. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.

BURIAL: Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
