NEWTON, NC: Our beloved Mother and Grandmother, Rev. Elva May Peeler, was born March 7, 1931, Camden, NJ. Elva gently passed away on Sept. 4, 2024 at the enduring age of 93. She was married 44 years to our beloved Father, Reverend Thomas M. Peeler, Sr., who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her brother Ronald Sweeten, and her 4 children, Brenda Farthing, Donna Downey, Bonnie Soltis, and James Peeler, as well as her grandchildren, (in birth order) Tanya Lambert, Felicia Godolphin, Debbie Ford, Tommy Ford, Austin DeRose, Jarod Soltis and Andrew Downey, in addition to having 10 great-grandchildren. She is also the loving Mother of her children who preceded her in death, Janice Peeler, Sandra Peeler, Thomas Peeler, Jr., and Daniel Peeler.
She was the heart of our home, a Godly spiritual leader, licensed Minister, a vocalist, and an endless gift giver. Elva also enjoyed her business endeavors which included being a creative floral designer, business rep, and owner of a successful Automotive Transport Service.
Elva will be well remembered and respected for her caring willingness to sacrifice her time and efforts for others. She opened her home to those in need and gave them rest. She was an active supporter of both the Humane Society of America, and the ASPCA, two of the most well-known national charities for animal rescue. It is without exaggeration that Elva's caring efforts and contributions throughout her years have literally saved the countless lives of both human kind and animal kind alike.
Elva's last little "angel puppy" Oreo, passed away over a year ago and was cremated. To honor her undying love for animals, as Elva is gently laid to rest, little Oreo will be held safely with her eternally.
Elva will remain forever loved and cherished by all who knew her. She will be sorely missed.
