Emma Summitt

SHELBY: Emma White Summitt, 75, died Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late James and Sallie Mullinax White. Emma was a member of Landmark Baptist Church. She had a love for cleaning and doing for others. She enjoyed senior living and spending time with others. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Summitt; son, Kenneth Lee Summitt; grandson, Jacob Denton; brothers, Ralph and Roy White; and sister, Thelma Davis. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Denton of Spartanburg; sisters, Ruth Parker of CA and JoAnn Lowery of Shelby; grandchildren, Kenneth Denton and wife Shannon, Phillip Denton, Dakota Denton and wife Brenda and Aiden Denton; and nephews and her caregivers, Randy and Allen Davis of Shelby. A graveside service will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 2, 2024 in Patterson Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Allen Davis officiating.
