SHELBY- Mrs. Emma Alice Berryhill Pruett, 86, of 840 McSwain Rd., Shelby, died Thursday, July 13, 2006 at home.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 15, 2006 at Bethel Baptist Church.
LIE-IN-STATE: 30 minutes prior to the service at the church
BURIAL: Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:30 p.m., on Friday, July 14, 2006, and other times at the home.
PERSONAL HISTORY: Born to the late Dan and Fannie Berryhill, she was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was retired from PPG after 14 1/2 years of service.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pruett was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Lee Pruett, her brother, Fred Berryhill and sisters Ruby Brooks, Bessie Canipe and Maudie Massagee.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by ten sons and their wives, John Pruett of S.C., James Pruett and Pat of Rutherfordton, Reidus Pruett of S.C., Donald Pruett and Judy of Boiling Springs, Richard Pruett and Clara of Rutherfordton, Wayne Pruett and Carolyn of Rutherfordton, Brian Pruett and Melody of Bostic, Grady Pruett and Sharon of Forest City, Steve Pruett and Wendy, and David Pruett, all of Shelby; five daughters and their husbands, Leavada Kaye Page and Steve of Shelby, Nancy Gilliam of Grover, Rita Strange and Gabby of Shelby, Joyce Brooks and Hoyt of Earl, and Jeanette Strange of Rutherfordton; 36 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren; three brothers, Richard Berryhill of Lincolnton, William Berryhill and wife, Clare Sue of Tenn., and Robert Berryhill of Hickory; and two sisters, Lula Coley and Junie Tuggle, both of Newton.
