Ennis Johnson

August 3, 1932 — April 4, 2022

SHELBY: Ennis Hartwell Johnson, 89, died Monday, April 4, 2022 at Atrium Health Cleveland. Born in Hancock County, GA, he was the son of the late Ennis A. and Mattie Wilson Johnson. Ennis retired from the US Airforce and was an active member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. He was an avid Braves and GA Bulldogs fan. He use to coach little league ball and enjoyed working in his yard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Gaynell West Johnson; and seven brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Kloosterman of Shelby; son, Mark Johnson and wife Stephanie of Mt. Holly; sister, Amelia House and husband Ronnie of FL; grandchildren, Scott Kloosterman, Jennifer Wilson, Amy Shull and Brandon Johnson; and great- grandchildren, Zack Kloosterman, Hunter Stroup, Jordyn Stoup and Reagan Shull. Funeral services will be held 2:00PM, Friday, April 8, 2022 at Aldersgate U.M.C. with the Rev. Carrie Carpenter officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, in the church. Burial will full military honors will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park. Memorials may be made in his memory to Mt. Hope Cemetery Association, c/o Vickie Morgan, 4488 GA Hwy 15, Sparta, GA 31088
