Ernest "Butch" Godfrey

July 27, 1946 — August 12, 2010

CHARLOTTE- Mr. Ernest “Butch” Alexander Godfrey III, 64, died Thursday, August 12, 2010 at his home after a lengthy illness. A native of Covington, KY, he was the son of the late Lt. Col Ernest A. Jr. and Patty Massey Godfrey. He served in the Navy.
Grateful for sharing his life is his wife, Lenora, sisters, Margaret Miller and Pat Yarborough and their children, beloved aunts Margaret Brewer and Carolyn Crow; father and mother-in-law, Jim and Ruth Neal, of Shelby; two brothers-in-law, Jimmy Neal and wife Amanda and their son Jesse, of Shelby, Rob Neal and wife Susan and their children Kevin and Katherine of Beaufort; and sister-in-law Melanie Morrison and husband Ace of Shelby and their son Richie Sparrow.

SERVICES: A graveside service will be held, Monday, 2pm, August 16, at Sunset Cemetery with military honors.
