SHELBY- Mrs. Esther Greene Edmondson, 92, died Tues., July 19, 2011 at Peak Resources of Shelby. A native of Rutherford Co. she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Eva Bolton Greene. She was a charter member of her beloved Bethel Baptist Church. She also had a love for animals and they loved her.
PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Boyd Earl Edmondson; three brothers, Dewey, Haas, and Howard Greene.
SURVIVED: She is survived by her two sisters, Gwen Grumbine of PA., and Margaret Louise Greene of Shelby; special friends, Leon and Ginger Smith, and Valerie Short, all of Shelby; nieces and nephews, Barry Greene, Rev. Marvin Green, Carol White, Randy and Roger Grumbine, Gay Sanders, Brenda Shepard, and Michael Greene; two sister-in-laws, Betty and Willie Greene, both of Shelby; a adopted sister, Emma Butts of Macon, GA; many loving nieces and nephews from her husband’s family; and much love goes out to Betty Carter and David Carter who was loved so much by Esther.
SERVICES: 2pm, Friday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel
VISITATION: One hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and other times at the home of her sister, Margaret Greene, 704 Second St., Shelby.
CLERGY: Dr. Tim Sims and Rev. Marvin Green
BURIAL: Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park
