Ethan Whaley

Ethan Joel Whaley, 32, of Shelby, North Carolina, passed away on March 6, 2024, in Sumter, South Carolina. He was born on May 6, 1991. Ethan is survived by his mother Samantha and Shannon Ledbetter, his father Joel Whaley (Janie), his beloved fiancé Krystal Carter, his pride and joy, his daughter Delilah Whaley; siblings Josey Whaley, Bella Blu Ledbetter, Gunner Ledbetter and nephews Gage Lookadoo and Ozzy Galbreath, Grandparents Patricia Bowen, Debra Walters (Ron), James Ledbetter (Karen); Nena Padgett (George McGuire), Charis Calvert (Mark), Christopher Walters (Elizabeth), Ronald Walters, Jennifer Smith (Craig); Cousins Hannah Padgett, Cassie and Haley Smith and many other loved ones and friends.
Ethan had a larger than life personality and he could make you laugh whether you wanted to or not. He loved to play his guitar and sing for whoever would listen. He was loved by everyone that crossed his path.
Ethan will be dearly missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday March 16, 2024, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
