SHELBY- Mr. Farris Lee “Butch Jackson, 64, of 607 N. Post Rd., died Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Hospice at Wendover. He was a native of Cleveland County, son to the late Pete and Catherine Hollifield Jackson.
Mr. Jackson was a loving father and grandfather. He was member of Lily Memorial Baptist Church, and had retired from Bosch Industries of Lincolnton, and was a self employed painter. He was an avid fisherman and member of Cleveland County Basscasters and the Cleveland County Bass Club. He loved dirt track racing, NASCAR (especially #3 Dale Earnhardt), and just loved being outdoors.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Eula Mae Willis Jackson; and a sister, Patsy Reeves.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by three sons, Steven Farris Jackson Michael Crotts, and Scott Crotts and his wife Julie, all of Shelby; two daughters, Angela Jackson Guy and her husband Jerry of Belmont, and Sharon Jackson of Shelby; two sisters, Emma Cooke of Inman, SC, and Julie Booth and her husband Lewis of Shelby; two brothers, Glenn Jackson and Marvin Jackson, both of Shelby; ten grandchildren, Caleb and Kyle Jackson, Mitchell and Allie Guy, Cassie Jackson, Mason, allen, and Jada Crotts, and Adam and Michelle Crotts; his special friend and caregiver, JoAnn Lankford; and his “lunker buddies”, Richard Blanton, David Bolch, Danny Gold, Chad Arrowood, Rodney Farris, Johnny Lankford, and Mark Putman.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends Sunday (12/30) from 6-7:30pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
FUNERAL: 11:00am, Monday (12/31) in the Chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.
BURIAL: will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
