Frances Clarke

SHELBY- Frances W. Clarke, 92, passed away Monday April 17, 2017 at Peak Resources of Shelby. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Worth Thompson and Mary “Mattie” Norvell Wright. She was a hairdresser for many years but her passion was cooking for her family.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 16 years, Horace Clarke; two brothers, James and Bill Wright.

SURVIVED: She is survived by one son, Mike Doty and wife Jeanne of Shelby; a step son, Gary O. Clarke and wife Nancy of Cornelius; a step daughter, Rebecca Williams of Shelby; one grandchild, Brooke Doty; four step grandchildren, Nicole Corley, Chad Williams, Chuck Clarke, and Jeff Clarke; six great grandchildren; numerous nieces and one nephew.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Thursday, 5-7 pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby.

INURNMENT: A private inurnment will be at Sunset Cemetery.
