SHELBY- Roy Franklin “Frank” Ellis, 80, died Sunday, May 14, 2017, at Carolinas Healthcare System-Cleveland. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Roy Olmer and Mammie Humphries Ellis. Frank was a faithful member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, retired from Hoechst Celanese, and was co-owner of Kings Mountain Auto Supply, where he enjoyed working part-time with his sons. He, along with his wife, Barbara, also served as custodians at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.
PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, J.C. Ellis; and sister, Nell Fraser.
SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara Waters Ellis, of the home; sons, Mike Ellis and wife Joy, and Tim Ellis and wife Sherri, all of Shelby; grandchildren, Matt Ellis of Shelby, Jordan Ellis of Charlotte, Lyndsey Ellis of Shelby, and Cara Lancaster and husband Taylor of Boiling Springs; great-grandchildren, Madison, Braylyn, Brooklyn, and Breanna; and many special friends and his church family.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends Tuesday, 4:30-6pm, at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church
FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 6pm, Tuesday, at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church
OFFICIATING: Rev. Tim Trexler will officiate
BURIAL: Will follow in the church cemetery
