Fred White

KINGS MOUNTAIN: Fred Arthur White, 90, died Sunday, June 3, 2022 at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain. Born in Cherokee County, SC, he was the son of the late D.L. and Helen Bailey White. Fred served in the Navy and retired from the Lansing State Journal after 37 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara and Lavern. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Mary Rilett White; son, Scott White of New York City; daughters, Jacqueline White Farris of Washington D.C., Kimberly White Yavaraski of Gastonia and Linda Marie Ching and husband Stanley of Honolulu, HI; and grandchildren, Maxwell Yavaraski of Tucson, AZ, Alex Yavaraski of Kings Mountain and Emily Yavaraski of Ann Arbor, MI. The family will receive friends 3-5:00 PM, Friday, July 8, 2022 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home in Kings Mountain.
