Freida Guffey

SHELBY: Freida Hamrick Guffey, 85, died Monday, November 22, 2021 at her home. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Edna Cornwell Hamrick. Freida loved taking care of young children, and later worked at UPS and Plastic Oddities. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Preston Hamrick. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Bobby Guffey of the home; sons, Russell Z. Guffey and wife Sheila of Spartanburg and Douglas B. Guffey and wife Dana of Shelby; sister, Meredith Pruet of Shelby; grandchildren, Adam R. Guffey, Zane Guffey and Matthew Guffey; great grandchildren, Tai Guffey, Emily Louise Guffey, William R. Guffey, Logan Guffey and Amelia Guffey; and special cousins, Tim Ware and wife Wanda and Anne C. Ware. Funeral services will be private to the family.
