Gary Floyd

November 30, 1949 — February 9, 2022

SHELBY: Gary Allen Floyd, 72, died Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at his home. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Jack and Kate Palmer Floyd. Gary served in the Army during Vietnam. He also served as past Master of Lodge #744 and was a member of Northside Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon. Gary was the former owner of All Seasons Power Equipment and was an avid woodworker. He loved to fish. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Sue Bridges Floyd; and grandson, Elizah Floyd. He is survived by his son, Jason Floyd and wife Lynne; daughter, Julie Crotts and husband Scott; sister, Jeanette Gibson and husband Leonard, all of Shelby; grandchildren, Allen Crotts and wife Melissa, Jada Hayes, Mason Crotts, Ethan Floyd and Eva Floyd; and great-grandson, Jaxon Crotts. Funeral services for Gary will be held 2:00PM, Monday, February, 14, 2022 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Neal Efird officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Northside Baptist Church.
