Gary "Zek" Parker

SHELBY- Gary “Zek” Parker, 71, died Sunday, May 22, 2016, at Carolinas Healthcare System-Cleveland. He was a member of Lily Memorial Baptist Church, and an avid Shelby High School sports fan, where he was often seen. He also volunteered for the American Legion World Series.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, JD, Boyce and Earl Parker.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his sisters, Deloris Cody and Hilda Parker of Shelby; nieces and nephews, Randy Parker of Wilmington, Diane Albea of Alabama, Sheila Sisk, Sam Parker, Carl Parker Jr., and Jimmy Wayne Parker, all of Shelby; and special friends, Ronald Hamrick, Dale Harrison, Ronnie Whisnant, and Doug Gold.

FUENRAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 11a.m., Friday, at Lily Memorial Baptist Church

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the church.

BURIAL: will follow in Sunset Cemetery

CLERGY: Rev. Jared Pankhurst will officiate
