Gary Peterson

SHELBY- Mr. Gary Dean Peterson, 60, of 445 Christopher Rd., died Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Carolinas Medical Center. A native of Cherokee County, he was a son of the late Vernon and Irene Peterson. He retired from PPG.

SURVIVORS: He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Karen Fletcher Peterson of the home; a son, Chad Travis Peterson and wife, Heather, of Boiling Springs; a daughter, Marie Peterson, of Gaffney, SC; two sisters, Frances Gibson and husband, J.D., and Gladys Tendell, all o Blacksburg; a brother, Doyle Peterson and wife, Joann, of Blacksburg; and three grandchildren, Dylan Lowery, and Aly and Lauri Dixon.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Friday, October 16, 2009 from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

FUNERAL: A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Clingman Memorial Gardens in Blacksburg, SC.

BURIAL: Burial will follow in Clingman Memorial Gardens

OFFICIATING CLERGY: The Rev. Tim Knox will officiate.
