SHELBY- Mr. Buck Dover, 83, died at his home, May 3, 2010, with his loving wife of 65 years, Maryland, by his side.
Buck was born August 18, 1926, in Shelby, to the late Robert Samuel and Bertha Onabelle Wilkins Dover.
An avid golfer, Buck, was the former General Manager of Printing & Packaging, Inc., where he took a year off to implement a Graphics Arts Program at Shelby High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church.
SURVIVED: He is survived by his wife, Maryland Carter Dover of the home; daughter, Lita Dover Smith and her husband, Marvin, of Lexington, NC; son, Dwayne Carter Dover and his wife, Heather, of Shelby, NC; daughter, Mily Dover Lusk and her husband, Dewey, of Big Stone Gap, VA; and daughter, Kibbe Dover Nixon, of Shelby, NC.Also surviving are grandchildren Brandon, Ryan and Charles Smith; Carter Dover, Gil and Landi Lusk, and Jeffery Nixon.
The body will remain at Clay Barnette Funeral Home from 9:30-10:30 am, Wednesday, May 5, 2010 for anyone who wishes to pay their respects; the family will not be present at this time.
FUNERAL: Services will be held, 12pm, Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at Ascension Lutheran Church.
CEMETERY: A private entombment will immediately follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
CLERGY: The Revs. Jeff Erbskorn and John Mocko will be officiating.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Buck Dover Golf Scholarship, Greater Cleveland County Schools Educational Foundation - 105 East Ridge Street - Kings Mountain, NC 28086.
