SHELBY- Mrs. Lucy Geneva Langley, 90, of Kings Road, died Monday, January 28, 2008 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Rutherford County, daughter to the late Porter Heron and Lucy Jane Freeman Crotts. Mrs. Langley was a long time member of Bethel Baptist Church, and was retired from J.P. Stevens.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Gordon Langley; a son, Jerry Gordon Langley; three brothers, A.W. Crotts, Charles Crotts, and Kenneth Crotts; and two sisters, Annie Lee Ireland and Nellie Crotts.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by one son, James Corbett Langley and his wife Diann of Polkville; one brother, Thad “Dee” Crotts of Lois, SC; and one sister, Mary Elizabeth Mayse of Bostic; 6 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Lucy H. Crotts and Ann Crotts, both of Shelby; and a number of nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 from 6-7:30 pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be Thursday, January 31, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
