KINGS MOUNTAIN: Geneva Wiggins Thrift, 92, died Saturday, February 24, 2024 at her home. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Lillian Moore Wiggins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William C. Thrift; sons, Harold C. Thrift and Robert D. Thrift; daughter, Lillian Gail Hooks; sisters, Jane W. Thrift and Sadie Dyer; great-granddaughter, Baby Kimberly Carpenter; daughters-in-law, Janice C. Thrift and Vickie A. Thrift. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Joyce Thrift of Kings Mountain and Carolyn Withers and husband Ron of Gastonia; sister, Dorothy W. Miller of Bostic; grandchildren, Chris Hollifield, Tina Hollifield, Ronnie Carpenter, Bill Carpenter, and Lee Hambright; step-grandson, Jeremy Parker; great-grandchildren, Mike and Matt Carpenter and Haley Hambright; great-great grandchildren, Miles, McKinley and Bryson Carpenter; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel in Shelby with the Rev. James Chambers officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in David Baptist Church Cemetery.
