SHELBY- Mr. George Ware, 86, of 617 Dellinger Rd., died Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at home. A native of Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Thomas and Maggie McDaniel Ware. He was former owner and operator of the Ware Brothers Auto Body Shop in Forest City and was a member of Zoar Baptist Church. He served in the Army during WWII, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He very much enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty West Ware; his brothers, J.D., Horace, Buford, Woodrow, Maynard, Gene and Charles Ware and a sister, Delta Humphries.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by two daughters, Donna Hall and husband, Larry, of Hickory and Jane Revis and husband, Lee, of Fuquay-Varina; a sister, Inez Eskew of Shelby; three grandchildren, Andrew Hall and wife, Donna and Justin Hall and wife, Stacy, all of Hickory, and Jacob Revis of Fuquay-Varina; two great-grandchildren, Landen Hall and Noah Hall, both of Hickory; and many nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 18, 2009 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Billy and Sherry Blanton, 1314 Wyanoke Avenue, Shelby.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2009 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Burial with military honors will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
