Gerald Gardner

SHELBY: Gerald Thomas Gardner Jr., 57, died Wednesday October 18, 2023, at Atrium Health Cleveland. A Cleveland County native, he was the son of the late Gerald Thomas Sr. and Brenda Gardner. Gerald had a special gift for making everyone he met laugh. He was a member at Camps Creek Baptist Church, he loved racing, slot cars, hot wheels, skateboarding, and most of all his grandbabies. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Sherry Willis. He is survived by his daughter, Brandy Guin and husband Chris of Gastonia; son, Gerald “Bubba” Gardner III of Lattimore; sisters, Terra Gardner and Donna Garitta and husband Sal of Lake Lure; grandchildren, Kinsley and Beaux Guin; nieces, Michelle, Shannon, and Ashlee; nephews, Aaron and Clayton; great-niece, Rylee, and special friend, Donna Ledford. The family will receive friends 11:00 AM to 12:30PM Wednesday October 25, 2023, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.
