SHELBY- Mrs. Geraldine Blanton Lovelace, 73, of 719 Washburn Switch Road, died Friday at Hospice at Wendover. She was a native of Cleveland County and daughter to the late Paul M. and Annie Belle Green Blanton. Geraldine retired from Kemet Industries as a lab technician and also worked in the Cleveland County School System cafeterias. She was a member at Eastside Baptist Church where she was active in the Ruth Sunday School Class and the W.M. U.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gene “Lefty” Blanton and his wife Joann; a sister-in-law, Anna Ray Brooks; and a son-in-law, Ken Emerson.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, William Asa “Ace” Lovelace; one son, Mark Lovelace and wife Fran of Shelby; two daughters, Jean (Noblitt) Lovelace and fiancé, Jeff Haynie of Shelby, and Audrey A. Emerson of the home; a brother, Bobby M. Blanton and wife Shirley of Forest City; a sister, Estelle Ledford and husband, Robert of Shelby; seven grandchildren, Cory Ferree, William Ferree, Zachery Lovelace, Noah Lovelace, Ciara Grayson, Jason Floyd and wife Nancy, and Aundie Erickson and husband Ryan; and four great-grandsons, Zachery Michael Lovelace, Tyler and Payton Hoopaugh, and Jayden Erickson. Geraldine is also survived by an uncle, J.E. Blanton; a brother-in-law, John Brooks; a brother-in-law, Rafe Lovelace and wife Marie, a brother-in-law, Keever Lovelace and wife Ruth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: from 12:30 to 2:00pm, Monday (12/3) at Eastside Baptist Church.
HEADQUARTERS: and at other times at the home.
FUNERAL: 2:00pm, Monday (12/3) at Eastside Baptist Church.
LIE-IN-STATE: during the visitation.
ENTOMBMENT: will follow in the mausoleum at Cleveland Memorial Park.
