Gertrude Green

SHELBY- Mrs. Gertrude Clark Green, 91, of Somerset Court, Cherryville, died Sunday, January 6, 2008 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Burke County, she was a daughter of the late Joe and Minnie Hildebran Clark. She was retired from the Lily Mill and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church, where she was also a member of the Ruth Sunday School class.

PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Green, her son, Billy Green, and two brothers, Clarence and Bill Clark.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by a daughter, Patsy Dellinger and her husband, Ken, of Cherryville; a sister, Hattie Thurkill of Shelby; three grandchildren, Mark Dellinger of Huntersville, Sherri Strickland of Cherryville and David Green of Shelby; and a great-grandchild, Miranda Strickland of Cherryville.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at Eastside Baptist Church and at other times at the home of her daughter, 2221 Fairways Drive, Cherryville.

FUNERAL: The funeral will be at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at Eastside Baptist Church.

BURIAL: Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
