SHELBY- Mrs. Gertrude Causby Petty, 90, died Monday, February 22, 2010 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Ed Ellis and Sally Leila Porter Causby. Mrs. Petty was a member of Trinity Church of the Living God.

PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband John Woodrow Petty; a daughter Patsy Sue Petty Lovelace; sister Florine Causby; and two brothers Nesby and Sam Causby

SURVIVORS: She is survived by her daughter Geraldine P. Transiskus and husband Paul; two brothers Joe Causby and wife Martha, and Ray Causby, all of Shelby; three sisters Emma Sue Henderson of Kings Mountain, Margaret Lee of Shelby, and Wanda Lewis and husband B.B. of Shelby; five grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Thursday, February 25, 2010 from 1-2 pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home.

FUNERAL: Services will be held, 2pm, Thursday, February 25, 2010, in the Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Sunset Cemetery.

OFFICIATING CLERGY: The Revs. Bill Daniels, Carroll Harrison, and Danny Lewis will be officiating.
