Grace Wellmon

Shelby- Grace Hawkins Wellmon, 94, passed away Wednesday June 19, 2024, at Hospice of Wendover Shelby.
A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Gard and Ethel Weaver Hawkins.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who retired from Celanese after 28 years. She was a woman of faith who loved the Lord and her Church Bethel Baptist. She enjoyed singing in the Church choir, and visiting nursing homes to sing to the residents. She took pride in her yard and enjoyed cutting the grass and traveling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Max Arthur Wellmon; brother, GB Hawkins; and sister, Billie Bridges.
She is survived by her son, Arthur Dale Wellmon and wife Kay Blackwood; daughters, Jewel Lynn Wellmon, and Anita Lee Strange; grandchildren, Christopher Dale Wellmon, Kimberly Helton McEntyre and husband Jeff, and Sheena Nicole Smith; great grandchildren, Justin Garrett McEntyre and wife Greta Rockstad, Hastin Lee Smith, Reagan Nicole Smith, Landon Trey Smith, Tristin Dell Oliver, Jax Dell Oliver, and Harlie Nicole Oliver.
Funeral Services will be held 3PM, Saturday June 22, 2024, at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Tim Sims officiating. Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park private to the family.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church Music Ministry.
