SHELBY- Mrs. Grace King Wright, 86, of 221 Dellinger Rd., died Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at White Oak Manor of Shelby. A native of Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Haywood and Ada Bynum King. She delivered the Shelby Star for almost 30 years and was a member of Zoar Baptist Church. Mrs. Wright was a member of the Cleveland Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary and was also a member and past director of the local Woodmen of the World Lodge.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert “Hub” Wright.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Almond and husband, Donald, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two grandsons, Stephen Almond of Panama City, Fla., and Brett Almond, MD/PhD, of Ypsilanti, MI; a brother, Adolphus King and wife, Bernice of Rutherfordton; three sisters-in-law, Bonnie King of Morganton, Gladys King of Hildebran, and Madeline Elliott of Shelby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends Thursday, November 15, 2007 (tonight) from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be Friday, November 16, 2007 at 10:00 a.m., at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
