SHELBY- Mr. Graham G. Champion, 72, of Shelby, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2006 at his home.

PERSONAL HISTORY: Born, October 13, 1934 in Cleveland County, Graham graduated from Fallston School and attended NC State University. After serving 9 years as a pilot and Captain in the United States Air Force, Graham was employed by Fiber Industries (Ticona) retiring after 38 years of perfect attendance. Graham was member of Mulls Memorial Baptist Church, and recently, when able, attended Faith Community Church. He was a loving husband and dedicated his life to his children. He could fix anything, and would frequently tell you he could.

PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: his parents, Grover Cleveland and Margaret Crotts Champion, and his brother Carol Champion.

SURVIVORS: He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Brenda Hamrick Champion, his son, Kali Graham Champion and wife Jessica of Shelby, and his daughter, Kristy Marie Champion Littlejohn and husband Matt of Raleigh, and their one 11 week old grandson, Cameron Littlejohn.
In addition to his wife and children, he is also survived by a brother, Jimmy Champion and wife Dianne of Shelby; sister-in-law, Vivian Hamrick Wease and husband Don of Bessemer City; Brothers-in-law, Keith Hamrick and wife Phyllis of Shelby and Clyde Hamrick and wife Vicki of Granbury, TX.
Graham also leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews: Laura Champion Tallent and husband Warren, David Champion and wife Phyllis, Fred Champion, Kelly Hamrick Beavers and husband Greg, April Hamrick Pope and husband Tommy, Bill Hamrick and wife Holly, and Christa Hamrick. Also his great nieces and nephews: Jennifer Tallent, Wesley Tallent, Heather Champion, Lexi Pope, and Anna Beavers.

VISITATION: Tonight (Dec 18) from 7-8:30pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.

FUNERAL: 2:00pm, Tuesday, Dec. 19th in the Chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home

BURIAL: will follow in Patterson Springs Baptist Cemetery with military honors.
