Harold "Vaughn" Mccracken

CHERRYVILLE: Harold “Vaughn” McCracken, 81, passed away the morning of June 16, 2023 at his home with his family at his side. Vaughn was born in Haywood County on October 10, 1941 to Blake Andrew and Mora Jane Justice McCracken. He served 6 years in the Army Nation Guard in Mooresville, where he worked heavy equipment. He was known for his love of work, ghost tours and being outdoors. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Laurine Pressley McCracken; daughters, Nancy Rogers and husband Ron and LaVonda Sherrill and husband Jerry; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 P.M., Sunday, June 18, 2023 at Metanoia Baptist Church, 2100 Capernium Road, Cherryville. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for them to disperse to their favorite charities.
