SHELBY- Mr. Hazel Edwin McSwain, 85, of 3523 Artee Rd., went to bed on Nov. 23rd and woke up on Thanksgiving in Heaven. A native of Cleveland Co., he was the son of the late Scheiman and Docia Brooks McSwain. He served in the Army during WWII, retired from the Ora Mill, and was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church, where he was in the Suttle Sunday School Class.
PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Howard and Farris McSwain.
SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Ruth Sweezy McSwain, of the home; daughter, Nancy McSwain Thomas of Arvada, Co.; three sisters, Shirley Funderburke and husband Woodrow of Hickory, Janice Cabiness and husband George, and Marcelle Hamrick and husband Richard, all of Shelby.
SERVICES: 11am, Monday, at Beaver Dam Baptist Church
VISITATION: One hour prior to the service, at the church, and other times at his home.
CLERGY: Revs. Jimmy Black and Phil Hughes, and Dr. Paul Sorrells
BURIAL: Cleveland Memorial Park with military honors
